The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Today I was reading The Three Billy Goats Gruff to the class as part of our reading series. We went outside to the courtyard, and role played the story on the little wooden bridge we have there. After we got back inside, I was asking some comprehension questions. I asked them, “Why did the three billy goats want to go over the bridge and up on the hill?

This one little girl said, “To make themselves fat.” She paused, patted my stomach and said matter-of-factly, “Like you.”

Sometimes I hate little children………

She is a smart little cookie, this is the same one who got her father to promise he wouldn't be mad before she would tell him that she had broken his computer........

I pretended to get my feelings hurt and to cry, but at this point in the year they see right through me. It was all I could do to keep from busting out laughing. It WAS so funny, and her delivery was perfect, the timing, her expression, the little pat on the stomach.....
