Trip to Robin and Jeremy's

You can't see the second rainbow, but this was a double rainbow, complete arch, ground to ground near Toquerville, Utah, north of St. George.

Two hours of dirt roads from Jere's house..... If you geocache, here's the coordinates:

One geode pit. Basically, you dig down until you hit a clay layer and the geodes are in the clay layer. It's really nice if you can get into a pit that someone else has already done a lot of the preliminary work.

Most of our good geodes came out of this pit.

The white layer is the clay and you can see where geodes have been extracted.

Vickie found this one right off, and spend a LONG time getting it out in one piece.

But she got it out.

We washed them off when we got back to Jere's.

Here is a smaller one. I think when Jere said we had to start back home in about a half hour we found and dug probably 70% of our geodes in that last half hour.
