Redwood Trip

This is inside Oregon Cave, it was on the way to Crescent City CA from Medford, OR. We used Crescent City as our base more or less.
These are Coastal Redwoods, they are right on the coast.
This is a beach near Crescent City. The weather was great, lots of fog and mist along the coast and pretty clear further inland. People in Crescent City were complaining about the "cold"... It was great, not to cold at all.
Crescent City was hit real hard by the Alaskan Earthquake back in the early 60's.
They have a sea wall now, not sure if it was there back then, but the weird concrete forms are designed to break up and absorb the force of waves. One was on display in Crescent City when the Tsunami hit, the small ones weight something like 21 tons. The tripod was knocked off it's base and moved 3 feet.

Vickie by the big log is showing tree rings and a timeline.

This is Crater Lake in Oregon, it was the last place we went, It is REALLY pretty.
