Student of the Month Assembly

It's the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and our school district decided to have school today. Well, a lot of teachers are out because of travelling and we didn't get enough subs. One sub for a kindergarten teacher was late, so I had her class. It was time for the Student of the Month Assembly and she wasn't here yet so I took both classes down to the MP room for the assembly. A class which has many of my students from last year was there first, and as I came in with almost 50 kids, they were watching me and one of them said, "Wow, you sure have a LOT of kids!" I said, "Yup! but I can handle it." She looks at me and shakes her head, "You couldn't handle us......". That's just a COLD shot.

And it would be the one kid from last year that I have talked about here the most. (AKA the Wascally Wabbit) She really comes up with some good material..........

I almost forgot, there is this ONE little girl in the other teacher's class. Well, let's just put it this way, she was the first kindergartner this year that the specialists, (such as Vickie in the library) learned the name of...... nice kid, just wacky as heck. Every time I see her, her teacher is rolling her eyes. Anyway after the two kids from her class got their awards she spent the rest of the assembly asking me, "When's it my turn?" "When's it my turn?" I told her it was all her teacher's fault, talk to her.......... the way she was looking at me, I figure she was thinking it was MY fault she didn't get picked......BUT the last kid called up by the principal? Had the same first name. Guess who popped up and ran up there? So she's looking at the principal expectantly, and HE'S looking at me questioningly, and I say, "Hey, you DID call her name......."
